       Hi,

My name is Kacy and my little daughter is Jordan she just turned 2 on 3/4/06. I have an older son Aaron who just turned 16 on 3/6/06. I am a single mom with physical challanges and my daughter is also physically challanged she was born with Amniotic band syndrome. her hands and feet have been affected by this horrible birth defect which is rare and she has had several surguries to corect her mained feet , and hands. She is not yet walking, but is getting closer everyday. She is a sweet funloving  and adorable lttle girl and deserves the best. Her father just made contact and meet his daughter for the 1st time, I  am not expecting much from this sudden contact.  I have no family my parents both died young.

I am in need of surgery so I can contunue to walk and care for my daughter. This causes an added expense to the already maxed out budget we both recieve social security and it's impossible to make the basic meet. When something  comes up and is an added expense, getting into dept and behind on bills , another worry, addd to an already full plate. Having this surgery means I will have to hire child care for my daughter for about 4-6weeks , and some one that can help with house work and errands. My insurance won't cover this as this is what your family does.

I really can't afford to put this surgery off any  longer and I also can't afford to get anymore into dept. I had been paying out of pocket for car repairs to the point where I had to take out payday loans just to cover rent and food. This is a rural area and transportation is a must. Especially when your child needs regular medical attention, and a trip to her specialist is a 3 hour drive 1 way. After 8 months of this my old car was replaced.

So Now I am reaching out to people I don't know to help. I really need to find a grant, I  am still behind due to my junk car putting me out. Since the only income is from Social Security, I don't file any tax return. We live in NH. The amount of food stamps allowed is $10 a month, I don't understand this.  I try to be strong for my kids but , there are times when I feel  trapped and helpless, trying to live on an income below the poverty line because some trama happened  seems like an added insult. .

Before my incident, in a hospital operating room that almost took my life.( I believe I was given too much anestetic to flatline for 6 minutes, lose all function, and have to be put,, on life support and spend a month in a coma. On this same day when your husband is notified of your condition he rushed to probate court almost a 2 hour drive and gets a order of custody of my son. is there 2 hours after I wake from the coma to tell me he has moved and taking his new little weapon with him-never told the court where I was.)I worked hard and never needed to ask for anything. I had a beautiful home, was in an ok marriage for 9 years. I owned and operated my own pet grooming business. All this was gone in one day, including the marriage. I was damaged , and was never going to be who I was before. Now I was going to be someone who had to ask others for help - this was so difficult when most of your life you have been independent, and anything you needed you got without having to asking for it. It also took me many years to clean up the dept left over from the marriage, my credit has gone from bad to none and in the credit world there is no difference Thankyou in advance for any help.                                                                                                        Kacy, Aaron, and Jordan

PS If anyone has any information on grant progrms for children  with specal needs please let me know.
